Introduction

In its broadest sense terrorism can be thought of as the use or endangered use of force against civilians intended to carry about political or social change. In addition, while we think of terrorism as being equally a political and absurd acted especially suicide terrorism, terrorism can also be thought of as a plain act conducted particularly because of the collision fear, perplexity, compliance it will have.

Agreed the U.S. government's undertaking to wage a war against terrorism, it is significant to look at its definitions. According to both the Department of Defence and the FBI, intimidation is the unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives (Vankammen and Loeber 1994).

Through tear-stained eyes and broken hearts, Americans grieved the awful actuality that haters, who in a pusillanimous act of terrorism sent our own planes deafening into the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon, murdered more than 6,000 of their fellow Americans.

America had become a cognizant and insensible, emotional and cognitive reference point for most of the people living in the western world. Beyond being the centre of supremacy, prosperity, information, it was also the foundation of a score of elementary values: freedom, capitalist spirit, and the apotheosis of the human personality, new ideas and concepts, new movements, lifestyles.

The message of September 11 was deafening and apparent, allowing for no uncertainty: the opponent is confrontational Islam. No wonder, then, that even before knowing who precisely was responsible, the government has been unenthusiastic to say so. The terrorists have no apprehension with which we are, how we suffer, or what we do. By their proceedings and their words which are now known, if they thought that all Americans had died they would not have a moment's be unhappy (Prothrow-Stith, 1991). What they hate is what the US, the leader of the western world, has done in their countries that make it not possible for them and all right-thinking Muslims to show the way the lives they would like to lead as good Muslims.

This new enemy seeks to destroy our freedom and impose its views. We value life; the terrorists ruthlessly destroy it. We value education; the terrorists do not believe women should be educated or should have health care, or should leave their homes. We value the right to speak our minds; for the terrorists, free expression can be grounds for execution (Adler 2005). We respect people of all faiths and welcome the free practice of religion; our enemy wants to dictate how to think and how to worship even to their fellow Muslims.
