When patients with terminal disease undergoing constant, unbearable suffering without hope of improving their situation and they make the request repeatedly, wilful and deliberate, some doctors and other members of the nursing are ready to put an end to their lives ("voluntary active euthanasia") or to help them end their lives ("assisted suicide"). Physicians may be their decision to discontinue life-sustaining treatment, knowing that they cause and the patient's death ("passive euthanasia").
