"Tele-health care" can be a way of healing growing rates of asthma sufferers' globally, decreasing time and cost of care for these patients and possibly making treatment more accessible to the greater number of patients, said Susannah McLean (University of Edinburgh investigator and colleagues).
The researchers analyzed twenty one investigations in which asthma patients intermingled with health care professionals by Internet, text notes, videoconferencing, phone or the blend of technologies. In most situations, patients started their care with the personal visit.
