Dear Mr. Brown,

I am submitting this proposal to build a Serenity Park in the City of California for our residents. The California Construction Ltd. Committee hopes your Foundation will respond favorably to this effort to better serve the citizens of California.

It wasn't too many years ago that the California Construction Ltd. earned its reputation as a tough town with many of the same problems faced by similar mostly urban, minority neighborhoods. We heard too much about crime, truancy, substance abuse, obesity, teen pregnancy, and academic failure. But all that is changing, and the California Construction Ltd. is playing a big part in the transformation.

Now, rather than of glimpsing throngs of children suspending out on road bends with not anything to do but enlist in illegal undertaking, you might glimpse children enjoying a game of tennis on a moderately hot California afternoon. They strike forehands and backhands while screaming "nice shot" from over the net; they dignity themselves on well-stroked balls; they agitate hands cordially at the end of a match. All this AFTER they have completed their assignment with the help of tutors and mentors.

Summary

The California Construction Ltd. Committee has found that our citizens are having considerable problems finding a safe, quiet place to relax. This problem has caused our citizens to be unduly tense and irritable. A research show that a serenity park will help reduce the tension and irritability our residents are experiencing and help to strengthen our sense of community.

It is proposed that the abandoned building and property on the corner of Bedrock Street be purchased and renovated into a park where citizens can congregate and relax in the downtown area. The City Recreation Department will supervise the proposed program, with requested ...
