HRS Global Corporation is a global entity which deals in Human Resource Services. They recruit Online through their web site www.HRSGlobal.com and provide Human Resource Consultancy services in USA and Canada.
Problem Definition
Top executives of HRS Global Corporation want to link main recruitment database with all the branches so that all of them share their information at the same platform. At the other hand they don't have any single database which links them all for information update purposes.
Alternatives and Course of Action
We suggest three alternatives to solve the problem. Two separate databases for international and local recruitment. Development of main database for head office which will connect with database of each local branch of corporation (Zimmermann, 2005). Each local branch will use its own received information separately and wouldn't affect the main database. It will use existing developed database of local branches. Corporation will receive resumes through their existing e-mil system.
One database connected by the different branches with one server (Tretten, 2006).
In second alternative we will develop only one database for head office and for all local branches. All other branches will connect to main server and use information from its home server. Any change made by local branches will change the information in the main server. Employees of main branch will submit information of resume into main server (Mohler, 2007).
In this case, again the resume will be received by the corporation through e-mail attachments. One database connected by different branches via internet with restrictions. In third alternative we will develop main database online that will be accessed by all branches with some restrictions. Restrictions will be placed according to location field in resume.
