ABSTRACT

The study has explored the concept of Project Management in a holistic context. The main focus of the study is on the sustainability of the project management in construction industry. The research also analyses different aspects of projects and project management. It explains the role played by the project manager in the success or failure of project manager. It also describes various factors that can contribute to the hindrance and can cause risks in the sustainability of the project management. The research discusses different risk factor and importance of risk management in the project of management of construction industry. It also provides implications and recommendations through which a manager and people who want to initiate a project can sustain their project by managing them appropriately. The research provides an analyses of overall risk factors involved in a failure of a project and how they can be overcome through proper communication, leadership, appropriate decision-making, identifying the risks and challenges at various stages, etc.

Introduction

The word 'project' has been taken from the word of Latin origin, which is meant 'to combine and hybrid' (Stretton, 2007, 18).
