Obviously, there is wide discrepancy in the rates of survival to hospital compared with the pre-hospital cardiac arrest events. Rosenberg et al. assessment of 300 hospitalized patients demonstrated 54% of initial survival after CPR followed by 23% survival to hospital discharge. Predictors of good outcome include initial resuscitation of ventricular tachycardia or fibrillation, and transient cardiac arrest CPR <30 min.
Perhaps the most important factor in predicting outcome in adult pre-hospital cardiac arrest time to the final intervention of resuscitation began.
