Reduction In Surgical Case Turnover: Patient Safety VS. Surgeon Satisfaction
Abstract
In this study, we try to explore the concept of reduction in the surgical case turnover: patient safety vs. surgeon satisfaction with emphasis on satisfaction of keeping surgeons in the hospital or keeping turnover times to a minimum, so they may have more time to add another case or do clinic, rounds, etc in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on exploring the concept of reduction in the surgical case turnover. The research also analyzes many aspects and compares the concept of patient safety, compared to the satisfaction of surgeons, and its relation with satisfaction of keeping surgeons in the hospital or keeping turnover times to a minimum, so they may have more time to add another case or do clinic, rounds, etc. To analyze and compare the topics of study, a number of previous literatures were thoroughly studied. By going through these past researches, the topic of the study was completely addressed and studied, in order to get an understanding of the topic under study. The methodology of this study was based on secondary research, and the qualitative analysis was used to conduct this study. Secondary research is done by getting information and data from previous studies, without using the primary resources. As this is a secondary research, no primary resources were utilized to conduct this study. Moreover, as qualitative analysis was used in order to conduct this study, the results presented were only theoretical in nature. No statistical tools were used, which would have compelled to include numeric data in the study, as well.
