The book "No Longer at ease" addresses a subject that is well developed by Achebe, namely the exploration of the interaction between the rapid modernization (or, rather, the Westernization) brought in colonial Africa (bad) state, on the one hand and tradition on the other. In fact, it seems to me that this book is better than "things Fall Apart," in which Achebe is the outright brutality of the conquest of an African society by a colonial power (in this case the British).

A semi-autobiographical story "Nervous Conditions" is regarding Tambú, a girl growing up in rural Rhodesia ...
