CHAPTER NO 1: INTRODUCTION
The study is based on the number of suicides from 2010 to 2011 and the trends causing soldiers to take their lives, which is an important aspect of to study as the increasing suicide rate is a major problem. The suicide is the issue which should be minimized as the increasing depression among the soldiers makes them to take their lives. Therefore, it is an important aspect to study which help the military people in having prosperous life after they return back to their home country.
Problem Statement
To identify statistically the number of suicides from 2010 to 2011 and what are the trends, suicides are causing soldiers to take their lives by their own hands.
Rationale for the Research
The research study is related to the suicides among the American soldiers which particularly focus on the statistics from 2010 to 2011. These statistics are important and imperative to study as it serves as the basis in minimizing the number of suicides among the American soldiers.
Moreover, it is observed that soldiers become mentally ill because of the environment where they operate, for that reason, this study will guide in solving out the issues which are experienced by the soldiers. Besides it, in relation to this, it is also vital that the trends which cause soldiers to take their lives by their own hands are also curial and essential factors to know as these trends will also help in controlling or decreasing number of suicides among the American soldiers.
Statement of the Research Objectives

CHAPTER NO 2: REVIEW OF THE RELEVANT LITERATURE
The increasing suicide among the soldiers is an important phenomenon as suicide among U.S. soldiers is 50% more than those killed in the fighting with terrorist or in wars. The number of suicides in the U.S. military over the past decade was a record. Most of those who took their own life, had served in Afghanistan. The statistics of suicide rate has alarmed in the U.S. military (Hyman, Ireland, Frost & Cottrell, 2012).
The suicide rate among the people who serve in the armed force has been an escalating focus of issue for the concerned Department of Defense, Members of Congress and Armed Force Department senior leadership.
