Katrina, the nineteen-year-old mother could possibly have no moral reasons for justifying her horrendous act. She is guilty of a crime that many people find it hard to think. Her treachery not only towards her own family, but also indirectly towards the society knows no bound. It appears pretty strange that such character should be drawn to act in such a gruesome manner. Her role far exceeds those of other villains portrayed in films as she is guilty of murder; this murder is not of any person else but her own father. Ethically or morally, there is no justification whatsoever possible for Katrina to murder her own father which she commits by cunningly manipulating her boyfriend Rusty.

It is due to this reason that one may regard as to why she is driven to such an extreme extent. The answer apart from her character and behavior lies in the reasons she has for committing the murder. These reasons as such have no moral justification at all. Her father was not abusive towards her. He cared and loved for both his children. Despite having been abandoned by her mother, we find no reason that may suggest that her departure was caused by her father. The man is certainly not guilty of being a bad husband. Neither is he guilty of being a cruel father. There is nothing to suggest that Katrina's obsessive behavior and her rebellion towards the society has anything to do with her upbringing. We see that he supports his daughter even after she has a baby. The reasons for her father's threat to cut off the financial support are not without justification. The only plausible reasoning that appears from his move is that he was intent on reforming his daughter. Katrina's wasting her life on drugs, sex, boys and anti-social behavior constitutes a nightmare for her father. In fact, she was a nightmare that every father dreads. Her father's move to severe her finances, and hand her baby to social service is morally and ethically correct. He knows that the only way to bring his daughter to the right path is by forcing her out of her current lifestyle, and for this he needs to make her change her lifestyle which is centered on criminal activities as well such as petty thefts apart from her anti-social behavior. Asking her to find a job or face financial sanctions is an attempt by her farther to make her change her wrong behavior. It does not suggest in any way that his measures are driven by any personal prejudice or that he does not care for her daughter. This proves Katrina's intent as being driven by the wrong reason and her manipulation of Rusty is nothing but an unethical act.

Therefore, one of the reasons that Katrina feels she has for killing her own father by inciting Rusty to commit this crime is totally wrong and devoid of any ethical consideration. Coming to one of the other reason that ...
