Stuttering is a disorder of language that appears in all cultural and social levels, in one of every 100 children. Furthermore, its presence will be three times higher in boys than in girls. As to the form of appearance, it may vary since there are three different basic types of stuttering. Conceptually we can define the disfemia as a disorder of verbal fluency in which there are no organic anomalies and is characterized by verbal disruptions affecting the rhythm of language (Conture & Curlee, 2007).
