Abstract

Face-book is a social media website. It is home to the world's largest social network with over 800 million users. The company is located in Menlo Park, California, United States. It is a consumer website whose main revenue comes from the internet. Face-book's revenue, as of 2011, was about $3.71 billion. Major consumer base of Face-book is the regular internet users. Founded in 2004, the company today has more than three thousand employees to work in various countries around the world.

Introduction

Face-book's main competition comes from the search giant Google which also launched its social network in competition to Face-book, known as Google Plus.

Face-book's Mission statement is “Face-book's mission is to give people the power to share and make the world more open and connected.”

I interviewed Mr. Mark Zuckerberg, the owner of Face-book. He founded the company in 2004, and since then he is the CEO of the company. Being the founder, he loves his company and promotes a culture of openness in the company. For the last 8 years, Mark has not only brought Facebook on to the map of the internet, he has transformed the company into the world's largest social network and continues to change the way we interact with the web.

Discussion

Mark believes that you have to love what you are doing, and there is no purpose of doing it when if you don't love it and you should stop. Also, starting a company makes even more important and special that he loves what he does, since more than 800 million people connect to the world thanks to it.
