Introduction

In our modern society, the term race is used as a social category. Differential treatment of people based on race is unacceptable, and all such treatment only helps to create more of a divide among races. In the article, analyzes that the use of race today can lead to prejudices among different races and differential treatment will only widen the gap of more future prejudices. If we treat one group differently because of their race and assume that for this race things should be easily handed over or hard fought we help to create prejudice and corrupt our society continuously. The researchers concluded that the media articulate and convey ideas, powerful images and stories and negative about the ethno-racial can have a significant influence on the collective belief of the American society. The researchers also expressed concern about the news continuously linking the activities of groups criminal or dangerous. They refer to these phenomena by the concepts of news items" and "language of the other." However, it also noted that this coverage is not necessarily intentional and that many factors limit or distort the news when it comes to race.

The preferential treatments of the whites solved nothing and to this day our country should be ashamed of their behavior towards the blacks. I use this example because it shows how differential treatment of any race leads to another race feeling inferior and only helps to create or add to more racism and prejudices. As we have read in our readings. Race is a social issue. We have been taught at a very young age to accept packaging for what is familiar. I think that the use of race helps to divide more people. It creates a competition of the races, and that is where hatred comes in because people have the need to feel that they are superior.

In the first article, there is a distinction between racial crime and crime within the minority community. What is the difference between these two concepts? Why are we so quick to label the crime by using words such as "Racial crime", "black crime", "and youth crime" and so on? The articles say that publishing race-based statistics can increase the friction between the racial or ethnic minorities. Racism and prejudices lead to all sorts of trouble. The trouble with differential treatments of race is the potential for hate crimes. A hate crime  defined as being, “Crime of aggravated assault, arson, burglary, criminal homicide, motor vehicle theft, robbery, sex offenses, and/or crime involving bodily injury in which the victim intentionally selected because of the victims' actual or perceived race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or disability.” I cannot imagine a case in which differential treatment of a race could be positive and not lead to bitterness and potential crimes against the races.
