ABSTRACT
For many years, community development goals were philanthropic activities that were seen as separate from business objectives, not fundamental to them. 'Doing well' and 'Doing good' were seen as separate pursuits. This principle is now changing in the present business scenario. As the business organizations are a part of the society, the company's accountability and responsibility are not only towards their shareholders but now it is said that as these organizations take input from the society, they should also give something in return to the society. Nowadays companies are finding new ways to discharge their technological responsibility and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is one of them. Enterprise Resource Planning is a software tool for increasing the productivity in the organization in various tasks. Today, the emergence of Enterprise Resource Planning programs has heralded a dramatic shift in business organisations. This is the reason why in this research, the usage of Enterprise Resource Planning at Spencer's Retail Ltd in India was reviewed. It was seen the way it has proved to be useful in retail organisations. Spencer's Retail Limited in India is one of the most successful retail outlets in India. Due to their large scale operations and increasing demand for technological tools, the company decided to install ERP software in their operations and has proved quite successful.
