This poem seemed really interesting to me. Diana Ross talks about going “Back to the future.” I think that she is talking about her wanting to time-travel to the past, which see states to be the future. The theme of the song is to always have a good start to anything you do for your future. This could relate to your education, experiences, or your social life. Another theme could be to live life with no regrets. In lines 9-10, Ross talks about the path that will determine her life. One must go with that path with no regrets.
