Introduction

The area of Requirement Engineering (RE) is considered as an area which is growing rapidly and of vital importance. There are several different contributions which are there to solve different issues that exist within requirement engineering, which are there because of growing concern of researchers and their efforts to carry out research in this area. In the research article “The Three Dimensions of Requirement Engineering” Klaus Pohl has identified the main goals which are supposed to be achieved during the process of Requirement Engineering for developing RE framework.

Discussion

Requirement engineering do exists at an early stage of software development life cycle; this agreement has been declared by most of the software engineers and researchers in the related field. The requirement engineering is software engineering process and a system that covers all the actions which are involved in discovering, documenting and maintaining a whole set of all the requirements for a system based on computer. The framework for requirement engineering identifies the structural elements of a requirements engineering process, which are there to close the gap between the vision and the target set, i.e. the necessary establishment of the vision in the context of relevant system. The framework consolidated findings that, starts from the existing issues in the systems and in the industry gained in research projects and are evaluated in the software development application and refined.

At the beginning of a requirements engineering process, there were only, some of the relevant requirements were known for the desired output in the future system. Understanding or of detailed degree of known requirements is also usually very vague. At the End of the process, however, all the desired output requirements needs to be known and show the level of detail required. During the process, there should be existing request-explicit references made, and new requirements are developed creatively. This provides the first essential part of the target Requirements Engineering process: all the relevant requirements in the known level of detail required and needs to be understood.

The Purpose and Motivation for the Research

The main purpose and motivation for carrying out research in this specific topic was to identify the main goals in the process of requirement engineering and keeping it simpler and helpful in software development. The subject of the three dimensions is to reach to the substantive understanding of the requirements of the proposed system for the software development.
