Answer: 1) Ways to make college more open regardless of sexual orientation

It should be the policy of the college to treat all students as well as the employees working in that college equally, the policy and codes should be made to treat all its personnel in the same way regardless of their sexual orientation. Not only this, organization in order to maintain proper check and balance very closely monitors the composition of its people. In case of any changes, the authorized person does it accordingly.

Following are the three ways to make the college campus more open to the people regardless of the sexual orientation:

Discipline

One of the essential policies of the college should be not to harass any student or employee on the basis of sex (gender). A proper discipline should be maintained following on the policies. Not only this accurate check and balance should be made to eradicate the sexual discrimination or the sexual orientation. Therefore in case anybody does not abide to the policy, there are chances of imposing severe penalty.

Proper Monitoring

The college should form an equality committee that should be responsible for the development, monitoring, implementation, practices and procedures to support students who are a part of the organization.

Positive Action

In case, the inequality becomes apparent the committee will automatically start working on it. There will be strict action taken against the people, which can even be termination from the college.

It is essential to promote tolerance and foster diversity with the university premises as it does not only makes the environment of the college peace but also inculcates the tolerance and stamina to tackle the problems the students might face in their future life.

Answer: 2) Occupational gender segregation

Occupational gender segregation is the division of groups characterized on the basis of gender across the globe. It is the assortment of a similar group i.e. male or female performing a particular job. This segregation can be done on the basis of discriminating the opposite gender along with the equality issues.

This can clearly be set as an example of sexism as people are still of the traditional mindset, discriminating gender and making the traditional stereotype of gender roles. Sexism includes prejudice or hatred towards the opposite sex. It is often coupled with the arguments of gender supremacy too.
