Introduction

Social stratification is a system by which a society ranks categories of persons a hierarchy. Stratification is the society has four basic principles. First, the social stratification is a feature of society and not the differences created by individuals. It's essentially saying that people who are rich have a successful and productive life, while people of lower socioeconomic class will not have the same benefits. Second social stratification will continue for generations. The majority of parents to transmit their social status, their children (Margaret, 2008).
