Social Norms

Traditionally, the concept of social norm has been considered one, if not the, most important concept for understanding the impact of social phenomena on individual behaviors and judgments. (Hechter, Karl-Dieter, 2001) The word social norm is employed with two main different categories, one customarily qualified as formal and the other generally called informal. The first category is the one adopted mainly by high school professionals, for principals the term refers to whatever most members of a given group do and think.
