"Reconciling Social Model with Medical Model in the care of children with Disabilities"
Abstract
Models of disability classify disability, resolve which professions serve people with disabilities, and assist in shaping the self-identities of those with disabilities. Even though these models have a invasive influence in the lives of people with disabilities and in the way in which services are delivered, their power is hardly ever acknowledged. In this paper, the reconcilliation of the most commonly used models of diability are reviewd in regards to caring for disabled children. No single model reveals and address all the needs of people with disabilities. However, a complete understanding of both model will permit practitioners from varied disciplines to comprehend the disability experience. Diversity in models has the prospective to be both strengthening and enriching.

Chapter 1: Introduction
Background of the study
Models of disability supply a structure for comprehending the way in which persons with impairments know-how disability. They furthermore supply a quotation for humanity as regulations, guidelines and organisations are evolved that influence on the inhabits of handicapped people. There are two major forms that have leveraged up to date conceiving about disability: the health form and the communal model. In the health form, handicapped persons are glimpsed as the problem. They need to change and acclimatize to attenuating components (if they can), and there is no proposal that humanity desires to change(Goodley, 2001, pp.21-27). Disabled young children have obtained little vigilance inside the communal form of disability: the span to which it presents an ample explanatory structure for their knowledge has been little explored. Many investigations about handicapped young children make quotation to the communal form, often in relative to recognising communal or material obstacles or in formulating recommendations for better services (Morris, 1998a; Dowling & Dolan, 2001; Murray, 2002; Townsley et al., 2004; Rabiee et al., 2005). Few have concentrated expressly on children's insights and knowledge of impairment and disability or discovered the significances of these for theorizing childhood disability. Watson et al. (2000) and Kelly (2005), next Connors and Stalker (2003a), are prominent exceptions. Ali et al. (2001), in a critical reconsider of the publications pertaining to very dark handicapped young children, resolved that the disability action in Britain has neglected children's experiences.
This form reflects the World Health Organization delineation of disability. The communal form has been evolved by handicapped people. In their outlook disability is initiated by the obstacles that live inside humanity and the way humanity is coordinated, which distinguishes against persons with impairments and omits them ...
