With the increase in social problems, different organizations have been formulated with the objective to bring social change for addressing social problems. Organizations bring social changes for fairness and justice. Policies are developed to deal with different problems by determining their solutions. Communication for Social Change (CFSC) was formed in early 2003 as a non-profit organization, with the aim to work for helping people globally living in poor communities. The organization assists people on these areas to raise their voices, ideas and beliefs to bring the change in their societies and in their lives. Ever since the organization has been developed it has been engaged in publication, teaching and training for bringing social change and sustaining it in the long-run. CFSC has been involved in community-based decision making and to ensure to have collective action that will prove to be effective to bring social change (www.communicationforsocialchange.org).
The organization has developed into a network of committed practitioners and scholars who, as opposed to top to bottom approach the organization is committed to have bottom to up approach for its decision making, as this would allow having tolerance, equity and justice. Mostly the rights of people living in rural areas are neglected and they are not given equal opportunities as those of people living in urban areas. CFSC ensures that it is not involved in discrimination by being engaged in effective listening at levels of an issue with all social segments. A significant role played by the organization is to equip and mobilize people at all community levels. To be able to understand local norms and customs the organization has hired local professionals (Greenwood & Guner, 2008).
