How skin cells are formed

The skin cells are formed in the epidermis, which is divided into various layers. These layers are known as strata (the outermost layer), corneum, lucidum, granulosm, spinosm and basale. Lucidum is present only in the hands' palm and at the bottom of the feet. The cells are formed at the basale layer through the process of mitosis.
