It was the summer of 1999, when my sisters and I planned to go for a girl's tour to the largest barrier island, i.e. South Padre Island, TX (McAlister, 1993). According to the data of visitor's bureau, around 115,000 people go to South Padre island in spring (Russell, 2004). Therefore, my sisters, Monica and April suggested that all of us three sisters should go and spend some summer there.

We got there on of 15 June and had booked Hilton Garden Inn. It had all the great facilities like gym, pool and best of all, walking distance from the beach. There are many fun-filled and interesting things to do over there. We got into our bikinis with nice cover-ups and got ready for the beach. It was nice, sunny and warm and a lot of happenings at the beach.

It was a new and exciting experience for us to speed up against the waves.
April suggested snorkeling so all three of us got excited, even though none of us knew how to swim. The guide equipped us with the snorkeling gear and taught us how to dive in the water. We went underwater, and the sight was awe-inspiring and breath-taking. It was amazing to see all the colorful life and creatures under water and even touched them. It was priceless to discover the life underwater.
We came back to our suite, freshened up and went out for dinner and drinks at Louis backyard. There were fireworks that night, and we enjoyed the fireworks in the lookout deck and bar. The night life was extremely entertaining and presence of mariachi bands made it even more fun. We danced to the beats of island music and forgot about all the stressful lives. We were having a nice time ...
