Simplifying Expressions

Basic properties relating to real numbers include Commutative property, Associative property, and Distributive property. In all three simplifications, we used all these properties. The distributive property implies that a real number outside the parenthesis should be multiplied by each number or expression within parenthesis. Commutative property tells us that we can add the like numbers in any order we want. Finally, Associative property states that we can add and multiply like real numbers in a group in any order.
