There were numerous happenings and disagreements that directed to the American War of Independence. The conflict erupted only twelve years after the Seven Years' War and numerous difficulties can be connected to this conflict which had left Britain's finances harshly depleted.The Seven Years' War had engaged a large effort from Britain to sustain its territories in America therefore defending its colonists. Britain sensed that the colonists should assist to yield for the cost of the conflict effort.
In an try to manage this Britain enforced some actions to levy the colonists. Up until this time the colonists had been left to direct themselves without interference from Britain. The colonists resented these levies and mostly battled contrary to them.As more actions were passed and boycotted, the labour turned more political with the colonists battling for their ideals, privileges and flexibility, and Britain battling to verify its right for unconditional command over its colonies.

Before the Seven Years' War, the colonists had become used to ruling by their own assemblies. Britain had mostly left them to their selves. The colonists "... set down in New England very resolute to reside by their own rules... and searched freedom... They became used to ruling their own colony"
