Introduction

Selecting a major is one of the most critical moments in the life of an individual since it tends to set a future direction. It tends to set a path for an individual in which he or she tends to pursue his or her career. Therefore, its importance tends to enhance due to the fact that it lays the foundation for an individual's carrier. Therefore, when opting for major there are various questions and procedures which need to be followed before selecting any major. However, the key is to follow the processes which would be discussed in the course of this paper and not rush towards a conclusion.

It is really important for an individual to identify the area he or she tends to be crazy about, which tends to drive him or her, and bases on that he or she should opt for a major. One should not select a major only because it is the wish of his or her friends or for that matter surrender to the wish of his or her parents. He or she should select the major in which he or she thinks that they will be able to excel in. If one tends to interested in sports and not literature therefore he or she should go for it. May be it is the place for him where he or she can excel. Therefore one should ask him or herself regarding the subject he or she is more interested in (Virginia & Susan, 2009).
