Introduction

Shilpi Somaya Gowda, born in Canada to parents migrated there from Mumbai, India. After graduating from the University of North Carolina and then Stanford University with an M.B.A., Gowda volunteered in an Indian orphanage, which became the inspiration for her first novel, Secret Daughter: A Novel (www.tinasbookreviews.com).
