Abstract

In this study we try to explore the concept of the impulse control ability of people who have schizotypal in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on schizotypal and its relation with personality disorder. The research also analyzes many aspects of personality disorder and tries to gauge its effect on personality disorder. Finally the research describes various factors which are responsible for personality disorder and tries to describe the overall effect of Schizotypal on impulse control.

Advancement in neurobiology and psychological understanding has led to increasing understanding about the human behavior. Psychological investigations highlight the constituent elements that influence the behavior of a person or create psychological changes. These changes relate to cognitive, affective, and social information processing. Neuro-physiological basis for changes in individual personality sometimes lead to the creation of personality disorders. Many researchers focused on examining the factors that lead to personality disorder condition.

Different researchers assessed the behavior modification impact on personality disorders. These researches helped in determining how sequential changes in the behavior lead to the creation of personality disorders. Impact of external factors on human behavior is highly significant that lead to the creation of personality disorder. Social belongings, personal experiences, living conditions, communal factors, incapacity to process information, depressive moods, personal relations, control of impulses, and many other factors are associated with creating physiological changes in the individual's personality. There are different kinds of personality disorders; each has differing characteristics and impact on psychological condition of a person.

Majority of personality disorders link with personal development and character building, which crest during adolescent. Inflexible, rigid, and inadequate responses to the changes and demands of life, leads to strengthening of personality disorder condition as a psychological problem. This paper aims at exploring the impact of schizotypal personality disorder on the impulse control behavior of a person suffering from this particular psychological abnormality.

The schizotypal is located between the schizoid personality and schizophrenia. The schizotypal personality disorder should not be confused with schizophrenia.Schizotypal personality disorder characterized as a long-standing pattern of behavior and experience similar to other personality disorders. The individual experience difficulty in functioning properly or experiences a great deal of distress. Many experts believe that people with this disorder have similar genetic vulnerabilities, but it is not clear why a person would develop a more or less severe form of the illness.

Literature works on this disorder clearly emphasize on determining the effective therapies for patients suffering from this condition. These researches also raised many questions about the etiology of this disorder. Main objective of this study is to focus on elucidating functional relationships of disorder with the impulse control condition of a patient compare to those who are not suffering from this disorder.
