Sabbatai Zevi, furthermore transliterated Shabbethai, Shabbetai, or Sabbetai; Zvi or Tzvi (July 23, 1626 - probably September 30, 1676) was a well renowned asserted Messiah and Kabbalist. He was the founder of the Sabbataian sect (the Donmeh), which drew components from Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
