In Canada, crime is measured by means of data from two Statistics Canada surveys: the data reported by police in the Crime Reporting Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) and the data reported by the victims as part of General Social Survey. This report describes the results an annual survey of criminal cases in which Canadian police were informed and they have established the merits.
