Rwanda is a beautiful country located in the central eastern Africa. This paper discusses the existing conditions in Rwanda, specially related to medical and health care. Moreover, the paper discusses the status of women, social security and benefits given to the public, also how Rwanda is on its way to economic recovery after the mass genocide of 1994.

Introduction
It will not be wrong to say that may African countries somehow share the same characteristics. Rwanda is not a much densely populated country with only 11.6 million inhabitants. Rwanda is a small country located in the central and eastern Africa. In recent times, it has also won itself the image of a tourism paradise in Africa, as it is gifted with beautiful natural sites, bearing lovely mountains and lakes right through the country.
The population comprises mostly of youngsters and rural public. The population can be distinctly divided in three broad categories, namely the Twas, Hutus and the Tutsi, where the distinction mainly bases on their occupation or social groups rather than ethnicity. The inhabitants of Rwanda are the primary followers of Christianity, with their most spoken language being Kinyarwanda.
After the Second World War, this African country was occupied by Belgium. The history of this country admits the occurrence of revolt by Hutus, civil wars and the great Genocide.
After the Genocide, Rwanda never looked back and consolidated its position since then. Its economy mainly banks on agriculture, with the fast growing tourism being the biggest foreign exchange generator. Rwanda is also renowned for its music, dance and arts and crafts. Besides tourism and agriculture, the government of Rwanda is also paying close attention to education, health and other necessities, and constantly striving to make them better, in order to provide the inhabitants of Rwanda a life that they rightly deserve (Gourevitch, 1999).
Social protection in Rwanda
It can be rightly said that the government of Rwanda is sincere to its people and striving to provide them with a better economy and life; and they are doing everything in their control to assure that. The government is fully devoted and loyal to assist the deprived and poor community, as they have initiated several social protection programs sponsored by government, for their assistance and support. However, in the recent period, as the country is experiencing the average growth by 8.6 % in its GDP, the poverty level is constantly increasing with more and more people sliding in that sector.
