CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
Introduction
The present study on the “role of communication in nursing care for elderly people” is an important topic that analyse the effectiveness of communication in the nurse elderly relationship. Nursing plays an important role in providing better healthcare services to the elderly. In order to produce positive health related outcomes it is imperative that nurses should perform all their part and tasks with great care and competent way. To perform the role of nursing in an effective and efficient way it is indispensable for a nurse to possess all necessary skills to provide care to the elderly. This paper talks about different nursing care skills and how nurses can perform various tasks of care with competency and skills (Spitzberg, 2005).
The nursing is a noble profession that provides care and assistance to the elderly. The role of nurse in the hospitals is extremely significant as they are involved in the number of important work. They are not only involved in the provision of medicines to the elderly but they are also present in the important decisions taken by the administration. There are many decisions that are taken by the nurses in the recruitment process of hospital staff. The role of nurses is not limited to treating and helping the doctors in treatment but they also take active part in the supervision of the hospitals (Fleischer, 2009).
