Slave Religion was initially written by Albert J. Raboteau in 1978. He was born in 1943 and He is currently a professor at Princeton University of Religion. He is considered as a great scholar of African and African American Religion. Some of his other works are A Sorrowful Joy, A Fire in the Bones, and Canaan Land.
