Results:

This section is divided in two parts , the first part will show intake of fruit and vegetables in participants and comparison between male and female for amount of fruit and vegetables consume .Also , show percentage of consume different types of fruit and vegetables. The second part will present the knowledge and awareness of students about the relationship between eating fruit and vegetables and cancer prevention.

The participants: Table (4.1) shows the percentage of men and women who completed the questionnaire and also the age group for participants in the questionnaire. The largest age range in both genders was between 20 and 25 years (women 63% and 54% in men) among all the participants. However, the smallest age range group participants in this project was between 36 and 40 and over in both genders. In addition, there was a significant group from a different academic school in the university. Students from the School of Health made up 43%, and 56% of the students were from other schools (Build and Natural Environment, Business Sciences, School of Engineering and Computing and School of Law and Social Sciences) in both man and women. Moreover, as shown in table (4.1) men were slightly more active than women. However, 21% of women did not do any type of physical activity. In generally, participants are playing less physical activity than the recommendation.

Fruit and vegetable intake: Table (4.1) gives the percentages of consumption of different types of fruit and vegetables (fruit juice, fresh fruits; fresh, raw, canned and frozen vegetables; frozen, salad, vegetable soups, vegetables with sandwiches, casseroles, stews, stir-fry, omelettes and tacos, also dried beans , tomato-based sauce including tomato sauce on pasta or macaroni, rice, pizza and other dishes) during the previous month. Most of the participants in this project, both male and female, had eaten some vegetables and fruit including those fruit and vegetables containing antioxidants and beta carotenes. The difference between fruit and vegetable intake of males and females was slight. Figures 4.1 and 4.2 have shown the difference between intake of male and female fruit and vegetables. However, females had a higher consumption of fresh fruit per day = 1 time/day (47%) than males (27%). Moreover, both genders had similar consumption amounts of fruit juice during the day (male 27% and female 26%). We noted that, a difference in the consumption of green vegetables 1- 6 times a week with 57% in females and 36% in males.
