One major problem that I am faced within my day- to- day life and want to find a solution for is managing my time more efficiently. Every day I am faced with the challenge of juggling work, school, family and never-ending chores. At the end of the day, I look back with exhaustion and realize that I did not get all the things accomplished that I set out to do. Subsequently, the schoolwork, household chores or errands that did not get done the prior day fall on the next day. It seems like a never-ending cycle of constant demands without any relaxation insight. As I sit here and type this paper, I am thinking about all the housework that needs to be done and what to cook for dinner. Evidently I am in dire need of some time management strategies and tools. To find a solution for my problem that will in the end be beneficial to me as well as my family and allow me to “complete work on a reasonable schedule and minimize stress” (Carter, Bishop, & Kravits, 2007, p. 8), it is essential to conduct research and gather information regarding time management strategies, evaluate the information and then decide how to effectively apply the information and tools gathered to my everyday life.

Doing research on the Internet can become very time-consuming if done incorrectly, therefore it is important to know what to look for and be specific when using the search engines. In my case I would specifically be looking for tools and strategies on time management for students or returning students. I would also have to decide what websites are creditable by questioning the content made available. “How useful an idea is to your work may depend on whether, or how well, it is backed up with solid evidence or made concrete with examples” (Carter, Bishop, & Kravits, 2007, p. 80), consequently it is necessary to have a critical approach regarding any information found on the Internet to make sure it is free of bias before it can be used as valid information (Carter, Bishop, & Kravits, 2007).
Another more costly resource would be to attend time management seminars or classes. Many schools make them available either online or in class. Taking seminars or classes requires that a person has time to attend class or do online work. Most important a person needs to research if the content of the course relates to his or her specific needs, which can be established by means of acquiring the class syllabus or getting information from someone that already attended the class. This is essential because most schools or places that offer these classes ...
