Introduction

We have conducted a research on the impact of natural disasters on the voting behavior of the public. The attitude of the public to believe that the government is the duty of social services for the public to provide hinge on the beliefs and safety rather the mayor of the blame for his own circumstances, or instead are victims of social structures, which it has not the political consequences of the government to respond effectively deal with natural disasters.

The focus of this research to the behavior of citizens by natural disasters in the vote for incumbent mayors and their perception of how the incumbent mayor treated the natural disaster in large urban areas are affected is. The case of "Katrina offers a critical example to the question of who the people to blame if the government did not discover that their work properly. Do the citizens blame politicians with special public duties and responsibilities, or do they rely on the existing systems and officials blame the other party? This paper discusses the evaluation of a number of hypotheses about natural disasters impact the voting behavior of the public on incumbent mayors in metropolitan areas with an experiment in a research project on the attitudes of citizens and the perception about the reaction to voting behavior that influenced by the perception of how the incumbent mayor treated the natural disaster in large urban areas. We have selected a real example of Hurricane Katrina for our research. Hurricane Katrina affected several states located along the Gulf Coast in August and September 2005. The poor response of federal, state and local governments prepare for and respond to the disaster is a very striking example of failure of government at all levels. (Dennis, 2005)

Our survey experiment on people different amounts of information about the events surrounding Hurricane Katrina exposed. We test the effect of two types of information about public officials blame attribution: party affiliation and job titles (and their interaction). We suspect that party cues lead people into members of their own party less than the members of the opposition party in the course of management failure fault. However, we expect that the information relates to the positions of the officers also to blame, perhaps mitigating bias and lead to more principled and content-based decisions.

To make only a few theories and empirical data, this impacts on people of different members of the public debt, the widely used failure, which is surprising, since attribution is an important result in itself. The process is a fundamental right is to the individuals of the world to do sense, and it is for the formation of normative judgments and causal beliefs necessary. Attribution serves as a psychological "glue" that persons, events, players can connect.
