Abstract

The purpose of the study is to explore the required changes in the educational management of the United Kingdom (UK) and the Middle East. The research also analyses the impact of approaches to change management, and the different styles of leadership management on the educational management in these two regions. The research is carried out through using the secondary research methods for the data collection and analysis. Lastly, the research incorporates the reasons for required changes in educational management of the UK and the Middle East based upon the issues in the educational management of these regions.

CHAPTER 01: INTRODUCTION

Background

The term 'educational management' refers to the study and practices of educational institutions. The primary concern of educational management can be understood in terms of the aims and objectives of education. These goals and objectives facilitate provision of direction in order to support and strengthen the management of educational institutions (Newman & Clarke, 1994, p. 29).The decisions of aims and objectives of education are considered as the heart of Educational Management. The manager is usually responsible for setting the aims and objectives, of the institution, in adult educational institutions. The manager, while setting aims and objectives, works in association with a senior management team and other stakeholders.

However, in many educational institutions, the setting of aims and objectives is an activity often performed by staff on the ground; such as administrators and teaching staff as the objectives of the management are often unclear to them. It can be argued that educational institutions are faced with continual pressures from the external environment, in today's era. Therefore, in many countries a national curriculum has been developed for all sectors of education, which is followed by all educational institutions in the country.
