In both the course works we find that the reports need a good introduction and buildup for example in the first work about the automobile it just starts off with the engine and in the second one in which the NVQ3 qualification is discussed. Both samples need to have clear introductions and an abstract or a thesis statement. Sample one has a better layout and an Appendix showing all photofraphs and figures at one place making it a more coherent and organized piece of work. Both works have bad formatting very evident at the end of the paer and the referencing page that has to be on a new page is found mixed up with the text. From the intext citation aspect sample 2 is better than sample 1 as it follows a correct citation style of APA. In sample one the references given on the last page are in the APA format but the intext citations are Harvard. So it has to follow one format throught the report. Overall the information and text is very good in both the reports. However, there could have been a few more examples in the technical sections of both the texts. Generally I find that the headings in certain sections need to be on a separate page like in the case of conclusion and references as explained above. Sample two mentions about an interview in the methodology section but there is no interview or even table within or after the text in a separate appendix section. (Williams, Joseph 2007 Pp. 29) In addition, we can see that sample 2 is a research study and needs a recommendation after the conclusion to provide guidance and assistance as per the research revealation.
