In this report, I am going to describe my own role as the member of a team to achieve its goal in relation to the different activities. The trip was to develop the learning and management skills inside the students. We all were having the tasks and projects to demonstrate our learning skills and leadership skills. This project was to build us the better leader of the future.
I am studying at the London University, and there was a project in which we had to go somewhere on the trip outside the city. There, we would be having different activities to perform and then acknowledge our own behaviour towards the circumstances. We had to analyse and evaluate the learning experience we achieved through the activities. We also had to evaluate our learning style and management style while doing the activities. In the end, we had to analyse the behaviour we demonstrated while performing the activities, and how we would incorporate that behaviour in future to improve our management skills. All students of went to a city outside London, we stayed there during last weekend and it called the residential weekend. I performed 5 activities; each activity was with different group of students. However, I will discuss here only two activities of them.
In this residential weekend, our teachers were also there. They were assigning us the activities and also they were picking the people for the groups. For the first task, I have been arranged to a group in which everybody was new to me. At the beginning of the task, I introduce myself to them and meet friends with them. We did not have any communication problems during the activities.
Both of these activities have enabled me to prove that I have leadership skills in me and I have the ability to learn new things in different situations. The activity one helped me to demonstrate the behaviorist kind of leadership; however, activity two helped me in proving the situational style of leadership within me.
1st Activity
In the first activity, my professors ask us to invent a sport game board such as monopoly and chess board. My group idea was to invent formula 1 sport game board. There were six boys and I was the only girl between them. I had no background about cars and formula 1 race. I tried to involve but i was not interested at all. At the very first, I went to my professor, wanting him to take me out of that group since that was not suitable for me. However, that professor taught use psychology. Therefore, he applied some psychological tricks on me to convince to remain in that group. He told me that we are here to mix and involve with the people to enhance our communication, team working skills and also to boost up our confidence.
