My Consultative Assessment Process- A Reflective Essay
Introduction
In today's globalized world of innovation and commercialism, educators are becoming increasingly concerned with the learning being offered at educational institutions. Hence, every learning program is meant to provide a distinct level of understanding and theoretical knowledge on the topic. Such programs could prove to be effective and some might lack essential attributes.
This reflective essay would highlight my learning experience in the consultative assessment process in pursuance of the Management Learning & Leadership Masters degree program. The essay would highlight the critical reviews by analyzing the processes of evaluation, giving and receiving feedback, power & politics, emotional learning and assessment dimensions in the Consultative Assessment process. The degree program allowed to improve my theoretical knowledge on the subject and to acquire the skills that would assist me throughout my career. The workshops conducted in the program; all played a vital role in educating the students on the core principles of the subject. The consistent exchange of information and ideas by the students further strengthened the paradigm of learning and improved group cohesion among the members.
Overview
If we analyse the dynamics of learning, it is quite evident that a diverse set of skills are required for effective group communication, enhancing self-esteem and to stimulate adequate leadership development. The avenues of collaboration, conflict management and social responsibility also play a vital role in the process of individual and collective learning. Highest principles of ethical behaviour are also a vital component. My ethics were highly supplemented by the consultative assessment process in the degree program.
There were different characters involved in each group, so at times I observed politics and power. During the assessment process, several individuals formed their own group and indulged in power politics and used their power to influence the decision making. Further, the tutor's decisions were also sometimes influenced by the people who held good positions. Hence, at times I noticed that such influences had considerable impact on the collective learning of the group.

Theoretical Perspective & Critical Review of the Learning Process
There seems to be a consensus among education experts and empirical psychologists that learning is a multi-faceted process. Developmental psychologists firmly believe that the process of learning can be enhanced by identify the core elements involved in learning. The process of learning in childhood is quite different from adults (Novak, 2011, pp. 4). Adults tend to better prioritize the stimulus around and hence have better command at the acquisition of knowledge and skills.
