Reducing drug trafficking in the United States

Introduction

Drug trafficking means the illegal trade of psychotropic substances regulated by the various Conventions of the UN, drug trafficking involves many trades: agriculture , chemistry , trading on the export , logistics and transport , import , inventory management , distribution , marketing , money laundering . It generally functions as the other markets of raw materials except for two characteristics: the prohibition and the inelastic demand to prices, which help to maintain high prices and therefore higher profits in other markets, making it attractive activity. In developed countries, the segmentation of the market is growing. Historically, Colombian and Mexican cartels have dominated the drug trade in America, to the United States of the same.

During the late 1980 and early 1990, the Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar was the largest exporter of drugs in the world, mainly due to the alliances formed with other criminal organizations around the world (Miron, 2008, 439). When efforts to stop drug trafficking in South Florida and the Caribbean produced results, the Colombian organizations began to form alliances with drug traffickers based in Mexico, to transport cocaine into the United States using Mexico as a way of contact. Gradually the problem of drug caused severe damage to the image and international politics of Latin American countries, but had always remained discreetly the existence of drug traffickers within the United States and some were even worse than American citizens (Murillo, 2005, 5). Drug Trafficking increased greatly in last four decades. Drug trafficking poses a real threat to the stability and security and to prevent socio-economic and political development in different countries. Drug trafficking has become one of the major sources for terrorist and other transnational criminal activities, therefore My topic in this research is limited to reduction of drug trafficking in United States. We shall be discussing different ways to reduce drug trafficking in America.

In 1971 initially fight against drug trafficking was known as “War on Drugs” and no 1 enemy of public was drug abuse. There are many risks when dealing drugs, but these risks are not appealing. Everyday drug trafficking gets more and more dangerous, it not safe even for innocent bystanders or police that get caught in-between turf wars and gang wars. Things like this have terrorized neighborhoods, small communities, small towns, and metro cities. People are afraid to live life as god intended behind this epidemic. It is hitting the youth so hard that Drugs are spreading fast through the high school systems. The most common drugs in high school are marijuana more commonly known as pot or weed, and hashish or "hash." There are always a few kids in every school that drop out and start to deal drugs on the street and just forget about their school education and future.
