Introduction

The trend of recycling and reuse of textiles has increased in the past few years. People who are involved in the textile industry should make sure that the products that they are manufacturing are utilized properly and if they are not utilized in the way they should be, they will have to make sure that the products are recycled so that they can be utilized later. The increased global concerns of the country have increased the trend of recycling. Recycling is also appropriate for countries where people are unable to afford new clothes. In such countries, the textile is reused and is sold to countries where people cannot afford new clothes (Paler & Clark, 2004, pp. 23). This enables them to purchase products because they are sold at a much lower price. The market of second hand clothes has increased a lot in the past few years.

Recycling

It is usually a product of from waste introduced to a life cycle. In this process, industrial waste or household become commodities. Recycling possess actions to reduce the production of objects that could become waste. It consists of those actions which allow a re-use of a product to give a second life, with the same or different use. It includes all those operations of waste collection and treatment that allow reintroduction in a life cycle. It has been proven one of the best ways to reuse the waste materials. Recycle materials include glass, metal, paper, textile, plastic and electronics (Hethorn & Ulasewicz, 2008, pp. 20).

Recycling of textile means that the clothes that are discarded by people are reused and are manufactured again in a new way in such a way that the whole product is modified and becomes a new product. This is one reason why reuse of textile is not considered good by many people. People do not like to wear second hand clothes because they think that they are not new and have been used previously. This concept should be cleared, because this is not the case. Clothes that are being reused and recycled are of good quality and are modified in such a way that it makes them new. People should be made clear of the fact that these clothes are new and are not old nor have been used by anyone previously.

Sustainability

Sustainability in the recycling of textiles can be achieved by making sure that people who are a part of this business are making efficient use of the resources. Sustainability in this activity can be achieved by making this an ongoing process and by creating a good market for this product (Baden & Barber, 2005, pp. 15). This will help in recycling products and in reusing them for the good of the society, as well as, the people.
