The British Film Institute (BFI) is a charitable organization. It was founded in 1933 and established by the Royal Charter. The British Film Institute support, push and give confidence to the art of television, films and affecting the image all the way through the United Kingdom. The British Film Institute (BFI) encourages television and films to promote the use of them as an evidence of modern and current manners and life. The British Film Institute also promotes the education and knowledge of people about the television, the moving image and the films, and also describes their impacts on the society. The British Film Institute (BFI) works to support appreciation and the access of the wide range of world cinema and British cinema. The British Film Institute also works to set up, develop and care for the collections that reflect the heritage and history of the moving image of the United Kingdom.

The British Film Institute (BFI) joins the industrial, culture and creative roles by bringing together the BFI Library and BFI National Archive, film exhibition and film distribution, film festivals and film publishing. The British Film Institute grant funding of lottery to the film distribution, film production, development of audience of the film, film education, and the research and intelligence of the market. The British Film Institute (BFI) is working hard to protect, maintain and conserve the artefacts and history of the culture of television and films. History of the British Film Institute (BFI)

It was founded in 1933 by Royal Charter. It was founded as a result of the recommendation given in the details about the National Life and the Film. The British Film Institute was a private company at that time. In spite of having a private company, The British Film Institute throughout its history always received money from the public like until 1965 from the Privy Council and Treasury and after that from the various culture departments. Because of the subsequent report of the Radcliffe of 1948, The British Film Institute was restructured. Radcliffe Report recommended to the British Film Institute that it should focus on the growth of the positive reception of the art of film more willingly than making films. Therefore, the National Committee had a control of the educational film production in education for the Visual Aids and control of promoting production was done by the British Film Academy (BFI, 2012, n.d.).
