Reader-Response assessment to Kate Chopin's “Story of an Hour”

Kate Chopin's "The article of an Hour" appears only to discover a woman's unpredictable answer to her husband's presumed death and reappearance, but really Chopin boasts Mrs. Mallard's bizarre story to reveal a difficulty that was inherent in the institution of our society.

In the early 1900s, marriage was comparable to a master-and-slave connection. The function of the woman in the marriage was minimal.
