Executive Summary
Racism is the ideology that believes in the existence of a hierarchy between racial groups. Until the late nineteenth century was the notion that mankind was divided into races. Allegedly scientific doctrines established the superiority of people who accumulated greater power of domination and colonization. From mid-twentieth century, these theories were disputed and scholars have concluded that human biology in our human species there are no conditions for subdivision into races by attributes such as skin color or hair texture. On the other hand, discrimination is the act of treating people differently and less favorably from certain personal attributes, such as sex, race, color, ethnic origin, social class, religion, sexual orientation, political opinions, the national extraction, characteristics that are not related to the merits and not with the skills required to perform the work. In an organization setting all employees should be treated equally so that there would be no effect of biasness. In order to lead the organization and to make it a successful one, it is the responsibility of management to create a culture which is free from Racism and discrimination among workers.

Racism is one of the most lingering problems in today's world. The minority ethnic groups of the world have to continuously face discrimination, racism and prejudice from the majority ethnic groups who have dominance in the society. This racism affects the people of all ages in the minority ethnic group. This essay focuses on providing a detailed knowledge of what racism is what are its causes, types and the theories related to racism. Furthermore, this essay describes how important is the understanding of racism in order to understand the social work practice for the children. It is the belief that a specific race is inferior or superior to the other. The moral and social traits in a person are determined by the biological characteristics that he or she has when they were born. It is treating people unfairly due to their social class or membership in a group (Fish 2011, pp 1). Racism leads to hatred by one person to another (archive.adl.org).
