Social Psychology and Folk Wisdom

Social psychology is the empirical science of individual and the collective experience and behavior depending on the particular social situation. It explores the broad laws of human behavior in social contexts. At the individual level, it deals with the processing of social information, the effect of social influence, and individual behavior in dyads and social groups. Social behavior is regarded as a function of perceived social situation, with their subjective perception is determined by characteristics of the individual as well as by social processes.

Folk wisdom refers to empirical knowledge found that the population has amassed over generations together in a particular regional part. It is common knowledge that is used without permission for everyone. A special feature of the folk wisdom is the region-specific traditions from generation to generation, without compelling written record. Their value is from habitat to habitat (e.g. urban / rural) evaluated differently.

The concept of "folk wisdom" firmly established in the scientific revolution, as judged by the works of scientists who develop the problem of social consciousness and its structural elements, as well as world issues, history, culture, knowledge, etc. The concept of "wisdom" and the more the notion of "folk wisdom ", in our opinion, still has not found another decent place in philosophical dictionaries, due to lack of research than of attention due to lack of grounds for its interpretation. Exploring the various sources and to the research topic we are considering not find the proper coverage and understanding the philosophical community.
