The book Tattooed Soldier is the story of the revenge and aggression. The author of the book is Tobar. It is his first novel. The story revolves around the lives of Antonio and Longoria. They tale reveals the history of vantage point of Guatemala when the country was suffering from the civil war. At that time, Los Angeles was also suffered from the blood and post-Rodney King Riots. The tale begins with a love story when Elena was a impressive university student and Antonio meets her. The character of Elena is powerful she is feeble and she looks awkward most of the time. They indulge with each other in as young people. Antonio takes her to the rural side of the country and marries her. He though that Elena will change after they will move to rural area. He also thinks she would become tame after their young and she will control her revolutionary attitude. She did not change there also and she started investigation of deadly practices of domestic sanitation service. One day when he came back to home he finds that his son and wife killed by a person. He wants to save his life that is the reason he flew to Los Angeles. He was able to see a glimpse of the killer before he left.

This is the core point of the actual story. A new character Longoria entered in the situation. He is cruel and disobedient of his army profession he had a tattoo on fore arm. The tattoo is of dangerous jaguar. Antonio perceives him as the murderer and a person who ruin his life. Although, Longoria is not a killer, but he had a great part in running the life of the Antonio (Héctor, p.176). Antonio wants to forget everything he does not want to have any emotions or memory, he left for Los Angeles believing that he will not face any emotions , but this does not save him from the managing it. He did not find comfort and he feels to have revenge and joined a group of refugees of Guatemala who had their mission to fight for their right. One day Antonio saw Longoria playing chess in the park. Antonio is jobless, poor, homeless; nothing has left in his life. He has nothing to do. When he saw Longoria his memories turn on again he become aggressive. Antonio had an idea to kill him he wants to take the revenge of his wife and innocent son. He started tracing each and every moment of Longoria and made plans to kill him (Héctor, p.183). The time came when the Rodney King riots break in the country and everyone started looting, killing, snatching, and other rigorous situations. This was the time Antonio become aggressive and decided to kill Longoria because of not taking the revenge for his family but he also wanted to take the revenge for what he was doing to Guatemalans.
