The evolution of the concept of quality in the process industry and the services we show we move from a stage where quality only referred to the control end. To separate the products bad good products, a quality control step in the process, with the motto: "Quality is not controlled, is made." Finally we arrive at a quality design which means not only to correct or reduce defects, but prevent them from happening, as postulated in the Total Quality approach. The road to Total Quality and require the establishment of a philosophy of quality, creating a new culture , maintaining a leadership , develop the staff and work team, develop the suppliers, have a focus on customer and plan quality (Burrill, pp12).
Demand overcomes a number of difficulties in the work that is done every day. It requires solving the variations that arise in the different processes of production, reduce defects and further improve standards of performance levels. To solve these problems or variations and improve the quality, it is necessary to rely on facts and not be guided only by common sense, experience, or daring. Building on these three elements can cause failure in case anyone wants to take responsibility (Burrill, pp12). There are seven basic tools that have been widely adopted in activities to improve quality and used as support for the analysis and solution of operational problems in the most different contexts of organization. Well for the industry is no controls or records could be called "tools to ensure the quality of a factory," are:
Control Sheet (Form collection data )
Histogram
Pareto Diagram
Cause and effect diagram
Stratification (stratification Analysis)
SCADTA Diagram ( Diagram Scatter)
Control Chart
The experience of specialists in the application of these instruments or tools statistics show that well implemented, using a method standardized problem solving may be able to solve up to 95% of the problems (Blackburn, pp.49).
In practice, these tools need to be complemented with other techniques such as qualitative and not quantitative are:
Brainstorming (brainstorming)
Survey
Interview
Flowchart
Matrix Selection Problem, etc...
Some people are inclined to sophisticated techniques and tend to belittle these seven tools because they seem simple and easy, but the reality is that you can solve most problems of quality, with the combined use of these tools in any process manufacturing industry. The seven tools are used to:
Identify problems
Define the problem area
Estimating factors likely to cause the problem
Determine whether the problem is indeed taken as true or not
Prevent errors due to omission, or neglect quickly
Confirm the effects of improvement
Identify gaps (Blackburn, pp.49)
Check Sheet
The control sheet or data collection sheet, also called registration, is used to collect and classify information according to certain categories, by noting and recording of their frequencies in the form of data. Once established the phenomenon requires study and identified the categories that characterize them, are recorded these on a sheet, indicating the frequency of observation.
The essence of the data is that the purpose is clear and the data ...
