The objective of the article is to produce substantial theories that would explain the decision making related to sex of high risk adolescent females. The reasons why there was a need to generate theory is in order to understand the decisions made by the high adolescent females regarding sex. After examining their attitude and behaviour, a proper strategy can be made to educate them about the safe sex decision making. This will help them to prevent themselves from the dangerous consequences that can occur because of the unprotected sex. Therefore, in order to have a proper study, the appropriate methodology and experimental design was used. Then the findings were used to analyze the problem and to provide a solution for it. (Nelson, 2006, pp.1281-1290)
Appropriateness of Methodology
The aim of the study was quite clear because the researchers felt a need to identify various reasons for adolescent females' sexual behaviour. The qualitative method was used in to gather maximum data for their research. Social Psychological Process was used by the researchers to find out the common reason among the participants in the experiment which would help them identifying the appropriate reasons for the problem. The research issues that came under consideration were; The fundamental social psychological problem experienced by high risk adolescent females regarding the sexual activities and the action that was taken as a result to manage this problem. Therefore it was felt by the researchers that by using qualitative method, they would be able to obtain maximum data for their studies because of the easy availability of information from the participants. (O'Donnell, 2003, pp.68-75)
Appropriateness of the Research Design and Recruitment Strategy
The Research Design that was used in this research was appropriate because the social psychological process that was implemented by the researchers helped them to find out the appropriate level of information. For instance, the participants in this research had the chance to share their problem of being bombarded by seductive influences that would lead to uncertain sexual decision. In reaction to these pressures, the participants changed their view of risky sexual behaviours to term it as normal, that is the behaviours are normalized in a risky way (Prunstein, 2003, pp.243-249)
Sexual intercourse was classified as the most risky behaviour in the research; though paying no attention for safety from STIs and pregnancy was even recognized very well. The central variable or social psychological process of standardizing was accomplished in four ways: the first way was finding membership in high-risk associations; the second way perceived “everybody's doing it; the third way was disregarding expected standards; and the last way was saying “yes” to sexual opportunities. (Sinha, 2007, pp. 231-249)
All this information was enough for the finding of the research however; researchers felt that they need to examine further female adolescents to examine their attitude regarding attraction of sexual behaviour. (Facente, 2001, pp.198-203)
The recruitment strategy that was used by the researchers was not a bad one as the adolescents who were included in the research ...
